Most of our websites are powered by 100% wind energy; we are proud that the machines hosting our Web site and e-mail are fully eco-friendly! As energy awareness continues to grow, people are not just looking to make lifestyle adjustments, they want to make environmentally responsible decisions, OutsiderInternet is powered by renewable energy.

We are making the effort and helping our clients to be eco-conscious. This initiative isn't a marketing ploy; we encourage responsible environmental practices inside the office and practice them outside the office and we know that many of our clients feel just as strongly.

The good old days - Tascam 144

The Tascam 144 4 track cassette recorder

‘Like A Sickle Runs Through Corn’ was recorded on a 4 track Tascam 144 cassette recorder – I had bought this in Birmingham – the store fleeced me with excessive repayments – they were expensive bits of kit and a … Continue reading →

The machine above was also used to record: Finish the Story, The Dancing Did, Blurt, This Window etc.

Radio play can be found here June 25th 2007 - recordings used off Tascam 144

Travelled to Dartington Hall near Totnes to do an interview on Soundart Radio 87.7 fm. This was a painless affair and I was made most welcome by the presenter - thank you Nell.

Playlist: This Window - 4 extracts from 15 Minute Wonders for ZH27 (USA):

1/ Goat
2/ Jig-Saw Man
3/ Procession With Crosses and Banners
4/ Rehersal 08-04-07
5/ Extract Mix - 2007 (not on album)

Playlist: Finish The Story

1/Apparently He Couldn't Hear Me (unreleased)
2/Trapped In The Hometown (first released 1990)
3/Solace (first released 1990)

Yes, the only thing that did get released was when Finish The Story was as good as finished – I’d walked off stage in the middle of a gig at the ‘AdLib’ and decided to call it a day (or was I sacked?). It had all got too much for me, all I could here was that fucking violin and I thought I’m playing bollocks? I can’t hear Garry, has Nicola done that bit yet? This sounds shit and I am disappointed. It was the last straw that broke…….besides. I was trying to hold down a job and I was in love. I’d reached breaking point. Nicola and I eventually put this behind us and we had a go at writing songs together. Zig Zag (magazine) offered Nicola a track on an album they were releasing in conjunction with Situation Two (Beggars Banquet) - we recorded a version of ‘Like A Sickle Runs Through Corn’ on the old Tascam 144 which I mixed onto a Revox PR9910 - that was released on ‘Gunfire and Pianos’ (like ‘Doorways’ a track recorded in a bedroom in Bromsgrove). This Window - 'Cassette Culture': #Printmaking postcard

Postcard for exhibition

I will mail you a postcard of an image that was exhibited recently in an exhibition of mine. I have always loved the idea of Mail Art - the forerunner of the Internet!

Mail art is a worldwide cultural movement that began in the early 1960s and involves sending visual art (but also music, sound art, poetry, etc.) through the international postal system. Mail Art is also known as Postal Art or Correspondence Art. The term networking is often used to describe Mail Art activities, based on the principles of barter and equal one-to-one collaboration.

After a peak in popularity in the late 1980s and early 1990s, the Mail Art phenomenon has gradually migrated to the Internet, whose “social networks” were largely anticipated and predicted by the interactive processes of postal collaborations. Nevertheless, Mail Art is still practiced in the new Millennium by a loose planetary community involving thousands of mailartists from the most varied backgrounds.

North Devon Arts - Printmaking

There is a good article about the exhibition of prints (woodcuts, screen prints, lithographs) and paintings by Peter Bright in The North Devon Journal:
'
'BOLD and arresting artwork will catch the eye at West Buckland School this month. The striking exhibition of prints, drawings and paintings is by Woolacombe artist, Peter Bright.

In it, Peter revisits images and ideas from his past and re-execute them in print and paint.

The picture of the astronaut inspired the paintings on canvas, pictured left, on the theme of What Happened To The Space Age?' Read more...

I can't believe how long it took to hang this show - 21 paintings, prints, woodcuts and screen prints. It is always one of those moments when you have your pants down and think "Why do I do this?"
