The most effective way to get your website business into search engines is to create a sitemap. A site map enables search engines to index, crawl and find pages on your site – efficiently and quickly.

All you need to do is fill your website address into the form here here and we will do the rest.

When we have received your payment we will send you a zip file (which you need to unzip) with all the site map files/images you need to upload to your server. Only upload the files and images and not the folder.

These files and images must be placed in your root directory so that the url is www.yourownsite.whatever/sitemap.html (and .xml). When you have done this email us back to say it is done and we will submit it to Google.

Yes, the only thing that did get released was when Finish The Story was as good as finished – I’d walked off stage in the middle of a gig at the ‘AdLib’ and decided to call it a day (or was I sacked?). It had all got too much for me, all I could here was that fucking violin and I thought I’m playing bollocks? I can’t hear Garry, has Nicola done that bit yet? This sounds shit and I am disappointed. It was the last straw that broke…….besides. I was trying to hold down a job and I was in love. I’d reached breaking point. Nicola and I eventually put this behind us and we had a go at writing songs together. Zig Zag (magazine) offered Nicola a track on an album they were releasing in conjunction with Situation Two (Beggars Banquet) - we recorded a version of ‘Like A Sickle Runs Through Corn’ on the old Tascam 144 which I mixed onto a Revox PR9910 - that was released on ‘Gunfire and Pianos’ (like ‘Doorways’ a track recorded in a bedroom in Bromsgrove). Mail art is a worldwide cultural movement that began in the early 1960s and involves sending visual art (but also music, sound art, poetry, etc.) through the international postal system. Mail Art is also known as Postal Art or Correspondence Art. The term networking is often used to describe Mail Art activities, based on the principles of barter and equal one-to-one collaboration.

After a peak in popularity in the late 1980s and early 1990s, the Mail Art phenomenon has gradually migrated to the Internet, whose “social networks” were largely anticipated and predicted by the interactive processes of postal collaborations. Nevertheless, Mail Art is still practiced in the new Millennium by a loose planetary community involving thousands of mailartists from the most varied backgrounds.

Juxtaposing images, either as a collage or printing is not simply a decorative process it is a complicated exercise. The mind always tries to create a narrative between images. The juxtaposition of arbitrary marks, color, photographs etc. will always tease and trick the mind into rationalizing what it is trying to process and attempt to make physical world references - in other words make sense of what it is trying to analyze. If you could turn back time would you? Would painting make more sense?

The definition of what is art and what isn't has become wooly. Painting is often defined as the application of a medium applied to a surface with a brush but in reality painting can involve other practices like printing.  There are generally unspoken guidelines for what makes a good painting. These intuitive components determine the painting's aesthetic value. These values and sensibilities constantly go through a shift, depending on cultural, political and social tolerances. There is no longer one definition for what makes a successful painting.

I have always been a hoarder, newspaper clippings, postcards etc. It is only now that I have decided to recycle them.

As an 11 year old I watched the first moon landing in 1969. I was mad about everything to do with space travel, I would read anything that was about rockets, cosmonauts and astronauts. Later in my life I shook the hand of a man who shook the hand of my all time hero Yuri Alekseyevich Gagarin, that was for me like touching history, if only secondhand (excuse the pun).

I have just been rummaging through old boxes of stuff and found the picture above – yellowed and faded – it still makes my heart flutter. I wish I’d been to the moon.

Photograph taken on a trip to Brittany in 2010 to the Cancale Oyster Farm

History has it that Louis XIV had his oysters brought to Versailles from Cancale. Centuries later, the farming of oysters is still a major activity in the port and there are oyster beds covering about 7.3 square kilometers easily seen from the pier at the harbor. These beds harvest about 25,000 tons of oysters each year.

Maybe Summer came early?

I can recommend going to 11 The Quay in Ilfracombe, North Devon. The restaurant has been re-opened with a new menu, redecorated and has several new priceless artworks on the walls. Great food - great art.

Number 11 The Quay was formally known as The White Hart. For over a hundred years it was the most popular Inn on the harbour, and for many years, it was run by the Barbeary family. The White Hart ceased trading in the 1980's when the landlord and brewery relocated to 'The Pier' pub; which, being all on one level, was far more practical for delivery and the storage of ale. Damien Hirst aquired Number 11 the Quay in 1999, with the idea of restoring it to accommodate an international calibre restaurant.

Reports and rumors reveal that e-commerce spending is becoming polarized, with websites like lovemoney.com advising readers not to buy products like books (recommending swap sites, bookmooch.com and readitswapit.co.uk) advising their readers to use these alternatives instead of Amazon etc. On the surface this cheap, recycling, money saving piece advise sounds like a good idea but...

It is a con!

SEO is no longer the cryptic crossword puzzle for those who indulged in Internet geekdom but the get rich technique for the opportunist would-be-businessman or charlatan. Some companies charge ridiculously large amounts of money for a lot of their optimisation services. These same businesses then try to explain their rates by attempting to convince prospective clients that by paying ‘extra’ they get a better deal in the long term. This technique reminds me of double glazing salesmen, who all say that by spending more with ‘x’ you get a better deal than with ‘y’, when in reality they all get their materials and manufacturing equipment from the same suppliers. Any astute businessman or businesswoman can intelligently work out that the reason for their inflated prices are due to a combination of greed and over staffing.

Search Engine Optimization appears to be becoming a big business in an age when the rest of the worlds’ business community is tightening its belt. The expression ‘Ambulance Chasers’ comes to mind. I will accept that good SEO requires hours and hours of hard work, involving research and then analysis and scrutiny but what is the acceptable cost? Is this task worth solicitors’ rates?
