Red Stag on Exmoor

The Emperor is of course the nine foot tall Red Stag on Exmoor that is said to have been killed some ten days ago. The question is – was he killed or was it another large Exmoor Stag.
There are a number and for those who come to Exmoor to do a three, four or five day ENDELS Course there is the opportunity to travel over the beautiful hills and valleys of Exmoor and to see if you can find any Stags. It is not easy. We cannot guarantee that you will see any Red Deer herds but we can do our best in the time that you are here.

Endels updated by North Devon Web - Design

ENDELS is affiliated to TEFL International, Barcelona
(one of Europe’s top English Language Teacher Training Centres)

This is a new venture by Paul Ellis. He has had a rich and rewarding academic career and a broadcasting career with the most renowned broadcasting organisation in the world, the BBC. Now, Paul has extended his experience and qualifications by undertaking a full time TEFL Training Course at one of the most renowned Teacher Training Centres in Europe.

Endorsement by Lisa P.M. Girling, BA Dunelm, cert TEFLA, DEFLA. Director,
  • ‘I have known Paul for some time and have no hesitation in recommending him as a person whose company one can enjoy and who is a very good mentor and tutor. His experience as a presenter and producer in the BBC means he brings a rare level of culture to his classes which was very much enjoyed by his students on the course. Paul has worked his whole life with words and this has given him a depth of knowledge of the English language which shines through in his teaching. He consistently performed at the highest level in Teaching Practice and he more than satisfied all the Course requirements. I give Paul and ENDELS my wholehearted recommendation.’
Endorsement by Jamie Cruickshank, Trinity College. Teacher Trainer and Cambridge External Oral Examiner.
  • ‘I believe that with Paul’s expertise and experience he is one of the very few that I would recommend for one-to-one training with senior executives and diplomats. I have seen him working with senior people and have been impressed with his skills and rapport.’

Are you having problems being seen by the major search engines? - Do you type in your name and not even appear on page three? The simple reason for this might be that they don’t know you even exist.

Brighton Pavilion

Brighton Pavilion
Originally uploaded by This Window
The Prince of Wales, who later became King George IV, first visited Brighton in 1783. The seaside town had become fashionable through the residence of George's uncle, the Duke of Cumberland, whose tastes for lavish cuisine, gaming and the theatre the young prince shared.

"I can’t believe I am 46 and I’ve never been to Brighton before. How did I miss this iconic rite of passage? Nary a bank holiday awayday or a dirty weekend in all my days. Well, I’m making up for it now – and in the best possible style – as writer in residence at the Hotel du Vin in Ship Street. It’s an awesome Gothic revival meets mock Tudor building done out with the usual Hdv flair and panache, a stunning two-floor bar and a buzzy bistro – and adjoining it is the unique Pub du Vin, encompassing tradition with a twist (pork scratchings and pickled onions available at the bar). I loved the pewter bar and the trompe l’oieul: peeling wallpaper shwoing exposed brick."

Chablis Diaries

The Orion Publishing Group and Hotel du Vin/Malmaison hotel are delighted to announce their collaboration on a “Writers in Residence” project that will run from July through to November 2010.
The tour kicks off with Veronica Henry who will be in residence at the Hotel du Vin in Poole and the Hotel du Vin in Brighton. She says, ‘I’m absolutely thrilled to be writer-in-residence at the Hotel du Vin. I remember going to the first Hotel du Vin when it opened in Winchester: I was enchanted, and have remained a huge fan ever since. We both strive for a similar style – quintessentially English escapism with a touch of wit – so I think it will be a very productive collaboration, and the perfect environment to find inspiration.’ Her current project, THE BEACH HUT, is published as an Orion paperback original on 22 July.

Broomhill Exhibition - Prices from £75 - North Devon Festival

New paintings and old drawings by
Peter Bright

Topiary for Beginners
Category:  Visual Arts & Literature
Starts: Tuesday, June 01, 2010
Ends: Wednesday, June 30, 2010

The bulk of the exhibition are based on drawings and lithographs from 1978. The image above is an image I used frequently during this period, the version above is the Internet Edition of 2006 and is available as a download (see below).

1978: I once had a girlfriend called Anne who wore ‘Charlie’ perfume. Every time we came close I sneezed. This was not conducive to a passionate affair. Her ‘big’ permed hair and ‘page three’ figure was always out of reach, until we discovered I was allergic to her bottled smell….later we discovered I was allergic to latex.

‘Walk Away or Jump’

Painting for exhibition
'Inspired by a cliff walk with one of Robert Rauschenberg’s assistants in 1978.  The implications of this encounter still roll around in my brain. ‘Walk Away or Jump’. This was possibly one of the major turning points in my life – what did I turn down?  Fame, fortune?'

'Unfortunately the majority of landscape art fails miserably however, ‘Lake Lucerne: the Bay of Uri from above Brunnen‘ circa 1844 (by Turner) is the ultimate painting of landscape and nature – it tells a massive story with very little content. This has been an important painting for me since the early 1970’s. I have always admired the New York Abstract Expressionists of the mid 20th century but when I first saw this painting by Turner…… my sock were blown off. It is without doubt a clever (maybe unfinished) conceptual landscape painting.' Read more…

Moving Into A Care Home - Adele Adams

Based in North Devon AdeleAdams.co.uk is a site dedicated to help people navigate the trials and tribulations of getting older. The service offered is to both the public, who are maybe trying to 'do the best thing' for their aging parents, or to help providers of care to deliver a quality service by giving support with management and quality assurance and help with crisis management.

After working for many years both in health and social care and the regulation of these services, it has become clear that the constantly changing environment can be challenging at best and confusing at worst.

Adele Adams RGN, Dip Community Healthcare Studies, Clinical Audit Facilitator is the founder of  AdeleAdams.co.uk

Adele is a qualified registered nurse, she has many years of experience in secondary and primary care services and has also worked as a clinical auditor, project manager, facilitator, district nursing sister, and has extensive experience of complex care coordination involving the application of continuing healthcare criteria and experience of representing local health services on funding panels. Personal English Language Tuition for Senior Executives

Here is another website we have helped to developed. ENDELS is a language school that is based in North Devon.
Each course lasts between three and five days depending on the needs of the client. Course sessions are interwoven with periods of appreciation of open countryside and the arts, with time allowed for privacy. Each course is tailor-made to meet the particular needs of participants and to achieve highly effective one-to-one learning.

Teaching English as a foreign language, which is often referred to as TEFL simply means teaching English, either in the UK or overseas to students whose first or main language is not English.
Commercial language schools throughout the UK and overseas, educate students of all ages and levels of competence, in classes of various class sizes. Some specialize in teaching to executives based in industry, diplomats, professionals and doctors. Senior executives usually benefit from one to one teaching.  Classes are usually taught in English, even with beginners.
Below is an example of an HTML sitemap from a professional individual language training school based in North Devon, (UK):
Site maps written in HTML are a useful tool used in conjunction with an XML site map. Here is the xml version of the same sitemap.
